Shrine Sketch with #UrbanSketchers

If you look back to my solo art exhibition in response to India, you may remember my shrines that I had set up throughout the gallery space. For some time now I have been setting up shrines around and photographing them.

Most of my previous shrines have shown up in Art Alley in Rapid City, South Dakota or around Laramie, Wyoming, but my most recent made an appearance along the Columbia River in Kennewick, Washington this morning.

I even sketched it with the group of #UrbanSketchers

Urban Sketchers

Since I've been in the Tri-Cities, I've become an active member of the Urban Sketchers.

The local group meets up at a different location one morning a week and sketches for a few hours. After sketching we meet up and share.

The #UrbanSketchers has been a great way to practice my observational drawing skills while networking with other artists and also offers a way to see more of the new town.

Last week we went tothe Kennewick Fire Department and sketched in the garage with the fire trucks.
